Mother's day

Happy mother's day! I can honestly say I am beyond blessed to have so many amazing moms in my life. I've got my mom, an amazing mother-in-law, my grandmother, two grandmother-in-laws, two sisters, and a countless wonderful mommy friends! I love that in my
less than stellar mommy moments I can look around and find so many other moms to draw inspiration from! Might I add that I can't wait to be a grandmother one day?? Grandma's get to have all the fun! They've got this built in patience and nurturing that a mom of younger kids just hasn't quite mastered yet. I love seeing my mom and Josh's mom with our children. I hope our kids know how lucky they are to have such devoted grandparents!
I had the best mother's day yet! Josh got me a vacuum cleaner.....I know a lot of you women reading this probably just choked a little, but I've REALLY been wanting a new vacuum so I was very happy with this gift! He also helped me start on baby Sadie's room, which helped greatly with this nesting thing I've got going on these days. I've felt very anxious the past couple of weeks because I don't have anything ready for the baby, so we put together the crib and a full size bed in her room. This has eased my anxiety for the time being!
We ended our day grilling steaks at my parents with all the kids. Melt my heart to see Josh and all the kids playing ball together in the yard. I couldn't have asked for a better gift!
I'm beyond thankful that the Lord has given me the privilege of being a mom. I don't know what I've done to deserve the unconditional love of three little people (and another on the way). I can't believe that He has trusted me to help Him shape these children into the adults they will ultimately become. I have my mommy meltdown moments, but hopefully when my kids grow up they will look back and smile at the memories they've had with me.....and maybe they'll even realize (probably after they have kids of their own) why I'm hard on them sometimes, why I want them to do chores, why my expectations of them are sky high, and why the occasional spanking they receive really does hurt me WAY more than it hurts them!
