Polar Express
We loaded the kid's up Saturday morning (Dec 15) to head to Palestine, TX to ride the polar express train! The boys had both been to the polar express ballet in Monroe the week before so everybody was excited. We met our friends, the Wilkerson's, the Cramer's, and the Hamby's in Palestine for some pre-train fun. We spent the afternoon in Santa's workshop and went to dinner afterwards. Then...onto the Polar Express. I can't say how amazing this trip was. Seeing the magic through the kid's eyes was absolutely priceless! We boarded the train headed to the North Pole. We sang, danced, drank hot cocoa, ate cookies, and listened to the story of the Polar Express. When we reached the North Pole, we had a surprise visit from Santa and he gave each of the kid's a magic bell!
We will definitely return when Sadie is old enough to enjoy it.

I saw mommy kissing Santa Claus!
Montessori School of Ruston hosted Christmas Storytime at the Dixie Theatre. Children came to hear stories, drink hot cocoa, sing songs, and eat cookies. AND...they had a special guest appearance this year....SANTA CLAUS! Of course, this particular week Ruston had a huge outbreak of the flu and Santa was a little nervous to fly in, so he called Josh and asked him if he would fill in. Josh so sweetly obliged. Have I mentioned how much I love my husband lately??? He's the best.
They had a really touching tribute during Storytime to the children and teachers at Sandy Hook Elementary. The kids sang Peace Around the World and passed around candles in remembrance of those who lost their lives. It was a very special, sweet moment seeing these children sing for other children.

Savannah turns 14! Payton turns 8!
Payton turned 8 on December 6 and we had his birthday party the Saturday before. We had the party at Party Galaxy and fun was had by all! Grandma Sharon from Chicago made a trip down that weekend to see all the kids and that made the day extra special.
Savannah turned 14 on November 28......yes, we have a TEENAGER! She had three of her girlfriends over for a sleepover. We took them out to eat at a Mexican restaurant before the sleepover commenced. So much fun!
